The Turtleman Foundation has produced a video in English and Spanish to educate about the seven species of sea turtles found worldwide. This video will be accessible on The Turtleman Foundation’s website and YouTube for educational use by anyone interested.

We are glad to announce that SOA Manabí and Academia del Océano (Ocean Academy) have won the 2024 grant first place. This grant will be used to construct an Ocean Education Center. This center will provide courses and training in the conservation and research of marine species for communities, university students, and professionals.

We are excited to announce that, thanks to this donation, Proyecto Akupara will be able to continue helping Leatherback and Loggerhead turtles. The funds will be used to make adjustments to their sea turtle nursery and to purchase much-needed equipment for volunteers conducting daily patrols. In addition, Akupara plans to implement a project to lower nest temperatures, which have been too high due to global warming, using a special material. Furthermore, we will be supporting a joint project between Akupara and the Tourtugas Foundation to create a community library. This library will serve as an educational resource for children in the area and tourists, focusing on sea turtles and how our actions can help protect them.

We are thrilled to announce that, with this donation, we will be able to continue supporting Diani Turtle Watch and Local Ocean Conservation this year through a new project. This project involves creating twelve informative signs along the coastline of the Diani-Chale Marine Reserve. These signs will offer guidelines for turtle-friendly practices and will be strategically placed at important locations near the beach. The purpose of these signs is to raise awareness about sea turtle conservation among the local community and visitors.

The funds will be used to purchase much-needed equipment for monitoring and the acquisition of fishing gear. Additionally, these funds will support environmental education activities.
