Great news from Venezuela! 🇻🇪🐢 The Turtleman Foundation is proud to support the incredible work of the Akupara Project, whose commitment to sea turtle conservation at Puipuy Beach, Sucre State, is truly inspiring.
As part of this collaboration, our donation has been delivered and key materials have been purchased to strengthen conservation efforts — including educational signs, t-shirts, gloves, a red light flashlight, and a dual wireless microphone, among other vital tools.
📍 One of the signs was officially donated to Mayor José Macondo Guerra, of Arismendi Municipality, Sucre State, as a symbol of cooperation and shared responsibility for the protection of local ecosystems.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to marine biologist Eneida Fajardo for her tireless dedication to environmental education and the protection of sea turtles.
Together, we are #SavingOneTurtleAtATime 🐢💚
Sea Turtle Conservation in Colombia 🐢🇨🇴 The Turtleman Foundation has generously donated funds to support a sea turtle conservation training workshop in El Valle, Bahía Solano, organized by CIMAD Foundation, based in Colombia.
We are very grateful for this meaningful collaboration, which strengthens our mission to protect sea turtles and their habitats.
The training workshop will focus on:
🐢 Proper management of protected nesting sites
🌱 Nest relocation, incubation monitoring, and hatchling release
📊 Visitor management, data collection, and tagging of nesting females
This initiative is part of a broader effort to build a robust, verifiable, and community-based conservation program along the Colombian Pacific coast.
PNN Utría officials also participated in a workshop led by CIMAD and The Turtleman Foundation on sea turtle monitoring in nesting beaches and feeding areas. This training is crucial for improving our ability to protect these incredible creatures.
Special thanks to PNN Utría and especially to The Turtleman Foundation for their invaluable support during the hawksbill turtle capture and training sessions.
Together, we protect what matters.
We’re thrilled to share that the FaunaMar Project has received our donation! The Turtleman Foundation is proud to support their work to protect sea turtles.
Over the years, the FaunaMar Project has benefited greatly from The Turtleman Foundation support, a dedicated advocate for sea turtle conservation. This partnership has been key in advancing research and environmental education—especially at the FaunaMar Museum, located in the Sun City Resort in Camocim, Ceará.
In 2025, this collaboration was renewed with a new donation. This generous support is already helping protect nests, safeguard female turtles and hatchlings, and promote environmental awareness.
Together, we’re making a difference!

Exciting News from Cuba! 🇨🇺
Thanks to the generous support of the Turtleman Foundation, two laptops 💻💻 and a printer 🖨️ have officially arrived at the Centro de Investigaciones Pesqueras (Fishery Research Center) in Havana, Cuba! @c.i.p.cuba
These tools will empower researchers in their mission to protect sea turtles and strengthen marine conservation efforts across the island.
We are especially grateful for the collaboration with Dr. Raidel Borroto Vejerano, marine biologist and Director of CIP, who holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and has conducted extensive research on sustainable fisheries and marine resource management. Alongside him, Dr. Félix Moncada, a leading Cuban marine biologist, has dedicated over four decades to the study and conservation of sea turtles. His work has been instrumental in shaping Cuba’s national conservation strategies and protecting critical nesting areas.
Together, we protect. Together, we grow.
Thank you, Turtleman Foundation, for making this possible!
The Turtleman Foundation is thrilled to partner with Academia del Océano to support the “Sea Turtle Identification and Monitoring Kit” project. This initiative will fund the creation of a manual, artisanal kits for identifying and monitoring sea turtles, and provide tools and educational materials for workshops. Together, we’re promoting marine education and conservation.
We’re excited to share this video 📹 from the I.E.R.D.I Valle de Tenjo, Guangata Location in Colombia, South America 🌎.
Thanks to a donation from The Turtleman Foundation, kids living far from the ocean are learning about and protecting sea turtles 🐢 and the environment 🌿.
This year, Diani Turtle Watch will be attending the 43rd International Sea Turtle Society Symposium in Accra, Ghana! This incredible opportunity has been made possible through the generous support of the Turtleman Foundation, whose unwavering commitment to sea turtle protection has had a profound impact—not just here in Kenya through our partnership, but globally as well.
Adding to the excitement, the Turtleman Foundation has also donated a stunning flip-flop sea turtle sculpture crafted by the talented artisans at Ocean Sole to be showcased at the symposium! This unique piece is a symbol of creative conservation and the importance of protecting our oceans.
We are beyond proud to not only represent Diani Turtle Watch on this global stage but also to highlight the work of our mother organisation, Local Ocean Conservation. This symposium is an incredible platform to share our journey and showcase how our partnership with the Turtleman Foundation has been instrumental in achieving our conservation goals.
Stay tuned for updates from the symposium, and thank you all for your continued support in protecting our oceans and sea turtles!
